This is nasty stuff. I love it. Especially love the introduction. Used to think pits were boring, but now they seem like an extension of the dungeon’s creator. They have a personality.
Now I’m thinking about the different personalities different kinds of traps have…

Not to put pressure on you, but this feels like a wonderful inspiration for a blog post…

This is true. I’ll need to collate a good list of trap types, or ‘genres’. It may well be that mechanically different traps have similar personalities. I’m referencing Courtney Campbell’s Tricks and Traps Index and trying to distill it into something simpler. Maybe organizing it by personality type. In the post above, gates are Warnings, pits are Retributions, or something of the sort.
