You’re totally right! It was my solution to reduce bookkeeping for player exhaustion (i.e. from not resting). I figure that resource management of torches is enough motivation to keep players moving and not sit around forever, but you’re right that sitting around to reduce the dungeon’s wrath is not desirable as a solution.

I suppose that an encounter trigger should be enough to reduce Dread, maybe subtracting 2d6 from the current Dread (to a minimum result of 2).

Oo, I like this idea. I’ve seen it in a few videogames, where the longer you spend in the tomb the more dangerous and alive it becomes (like a global timer).
