Worlds with Missing Elements

I was originally only going to share this on r/d100 but it got a really positive reception there so I thought I’d share it around here and a few other places as well. Given that this is a much more so specifically OSR community than there, I’d be interested to hear what people think it.


Removing something is a great technique, forces you to head in other directions! I love what you’ve done with the different worlds, they’d be great and flavourful destinations if the PCs were chasing a demon or some other off-worlder.

Was part of a game of Microscope the other day, and we were telling the tale of a space colony. Part of the game is stipulating things that must be included, or must be avoided. I chose to exclude treachery, and that made for some interesting work getting the story together, since it is a bit of a “standard move”.
