Whilst I walk through the valley o’ the shadow o’ death
I do behold myself, only to find I’m like Macbeth;
For I have dueled and made merry so long,
Lo, even my mother laments that my sense be gone!
But I have ne’er slain a countryman that did not deserve it;
Treat’st me like a knave? Thou know’st that’s unheard of!
Thou best holdest thy tongue, take care ne’er to blunder
Or thou may find’st thyself sleeping six feet under.
I do hate to play the rake, but alas, I must;
As I grow, I spy my visage from within the dust, knave.
I’m the kind of brigand all the youths want to be like
Yet I beg on my knees saying prayers in the candlelight.

He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise.

Behold the worldly stage whereupon I strut
I can’t live an honest life, I was raised by the sword
So I have to say “Down with the regime!”
Too much Shakespeare recitation hath me chasing dreams.
I’m a devious marauder, with gold on my mind
With a dagger in my hand an’ a gleam in mine eye.
Of a heated disposition, yet I stay on my path
An’ my mob is at my back so beware o’ my wrath, knave!
Death tis none but a heart’s beat hence,
Till then I suffer slings and arrows most intense.
My youth I left behind, yet will I grow old?
Forsooth who knows when Death will claim my soul.

He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise.

The power an’ the booty, the booty an’ the power
Minute upon minute, hour upon hour
Blind doth lead the blind amidst life on the run
Tomorrow and tomorrow, who can tell what dreams may come?
They say that I must learn, yet none wilt teach me
If they can’t understand, how are they to reach me?
Mayhaps they can’t, mayhaps they shan’t,
Mayhaps they act, that’s why I know my life is out of joint, knave!

He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
He doth spend up most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise
Keepeth spending most his life living in an outlaw’s paradise.

Wherefore are we too blind to see
Lo, the ones we hurt are thou and me?
Wherefore are we too blind to see
Lo, the ones we hurt are thou and me?
